Live beyond
the label they
gave you.
Andrew C. James is an actor, author, speaker, and social entrepreneur who turned a word meant to shrink him into a mandate to build, lead, and live loud for purpose.
"Should we all be a little more presumptuous?"
He's the author of Presumptuous — and he doesn't mind if you think that's exactly what he is.
Andrew dropped by the CBC Fresh Air studio to talk about why the very label used to hold people back might be the one they need to claim.

What if the very thing you've been afraid to do is the thing you were born to do?
Presumptuous is part memoir, part manual for living past the rules that were never written for you. Andrew James takes the word "presumptuous" — long used as a warning — and turns it into a mindset: one built on hope, possibility, and unstoppable faith.
This isn't a self-help book. It's a permission slip — for anyone bold enough to believe they were born to lead, build, and break a few molds along the way.
A visionary leader unlocking possibility through creativity.
Andrew James is an entrepreneur and mentor who believes community and creativity can change the trajectory of a young life. He co-founded Streams Community Hub, a registered charity in Shelburne, Ontario, where he now serves as Board Chair — helping ensure kids and teens have access to arts education, mentorship, and a safe place to belong.
He's also CEO of Town Tees, the social enterprise he built to fuel Streams' mission and create real jobs and mentorship opportunities for young people, blending commerce with community impact.
His own path into the arts started in high school, when a teacher saw past the class clown and pointed him toward the stage instead — a moment that shaped his lifelong belief in performance as a vehicle for transformation. Today he brings that same energy to his work as a speaker, author, and coach, including his latest book, Presumptuous: Living Beyond Limits, Labels, and Logic.

This book is a battle cry — not just a memoir.
Every copy sold raises awareness and momentum for the mission behind it.

Arts education transforms lives. At Streams Community Hub, we've seen firsthand how access to creative programs builds confidence, resilience, and community connection in children and youth. But not every family can afford these opportunities.
That's where monthly donors like you come in. Your recurring donation ensures that every child in Shelburne and surrounding areas — regardless of their family's financial situation — can explore theatre, music, visual arts, and more. When you give monthly, you're not just funding a class. You're investing in a child's future, their mental health, and their sense of belonging.
A bold mix of R&B, hip-hop, gospel, and pop, curated for confidence, faith, and motion. Built for workouts, study sessions, and powering through your day.
